adverb or adjective. into parts.
> what is asunder?
asunder will be a three- volume horror/ thriller anthology comic available in downloadable pdf as well as in limited paperback print.> what is an anthology?
an anthology is simply a collection of works penned by different authors, gathered together as a single publication.> is there an age requirement?
the minimum required age for contributors is sixteen, whereas moderators should be at least eighteen.> i'm an artist, but i don't want to write the script for my comic. how can i contribute?
the mod team doesn't have the bandwidth to pair up authors with illustrators at the moment: however, please feel free to apply as an established team! the expectation for contributors is to be able to write and illustrate the comic on your own, or be able to team up with someone to fill the gaps before applying- if neither of those things sound feasible, realistically this may not be the right zine for you!> how will contributors be compensated?
currently, the plan is for each contributor to receive a physical copy of the zine as compensation, as well as ideally a small monetary payout. moderators onboarded, if any, will also be compensated for their time!> what are contributor expectations?
each contributor will be expected to deliver a 6-20 page comic to be printed on a 5.5 inch x 8.5 inch vertical canvas, as well as a full- page cover for their own comic. there will be a total of five progress checks throughout the production of the zine, and contributors are expected to update and communicate in a timely manner accordingly.> how many artists will contribute to each volume?
ideally around 6-10, depending on the length of each comic.> can i be both a moderator and a contributor?
yes, but please be mindful of the workload associated with taking on multiple roles at once!> what content is allowed in asunder?
due to the project centering on horror and generally potentially unsettling themes, some comics are anticipated to feature moderate gore and/ or violence. excessive gore and non- sexual nudity may be allowed following moderator review.> am i allowed to distribute zine content on my own following production?
feel free to do whatever you choose with the comic you produced once the zine hits the leftovers stage! the physical print will not be re-produced for profit once final leftovers are gone.> can i use old work for this project?
unfinished drafts and concepts that haven't already been posted of published anywhere are fine to use! already completed works are not allowed.> how do the editions work?
each edition centers around a different horror- adjacent theme. right now, only three total editions are planned but there may be more in the future! artists are permitted to contribute to multiple editions if they so choose.the format of this zine is admittedly inspired largely by Kazu Kibuishi's Explorer anthology series!> will there be short stories as well as comics?
in the future, perhaps! as far as the current edition, displace, goes, the plan is exclusively comics at the moment.
hi! i'm jethro (or logan), and i'm a US- based illustrator and comic artist. i love horror and spend a lot of time daydreaming about horror comics yet to exist! this is my first zine, and i'm excited to work with everyone!
Hello! I'm Victor, a horror writer and pixel artist. I love zines and anthologies, especially those with original concepts. I've taken part in 75 zines to date, including plenty of modding experience. I also run Vinegar Zines, a group dedicated to creating unique and unusual projects. Looking forward to seeing everyone's work!
